“Fly Me to the Moon” Lyrics-Frank Sinatra
“Fly Me to the Moon” or “In Other Words” is a song, which was first recorded by Kaye Ballard and it was released on April 1954.
In 1954, Bart Howard had written the song which he had titled “In Other Words”. In 1958, Eydie Gorme had sang the song for her album “Eydie in Love” and the song was nominated for a Grammy Award.
The song had become more popular when Peggy Lee had released the song on her album “Pretty Eyes” in 1960, and had performed it in front of a large television audience on The Ed Sullivan Show. In 1963, Peggy Lee had also convinced Mr. Bart Howard to change the name of the song from “In Other Words” to “Fly Me to the Moon” as this name “Fly Me to the Moon” was better known than “In Other Words”.
In 1964, Frank Sinatra had sung this song for his album “It Might as Well Be Swing” and it became closely associated with NASA’s Apollo Space program.
A version of the song “Fly Me to the Moon” was being played on a Sony TC-50 portable cassette player on the Apollo 10 mission that had orbited the moon and at Apollo 11, before the first ever moon landing. The Frank Sinatra version was also being used in a 2000 NASA-related fictional movie named “Space Cowboys”.
During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, a 6-year-old girl from China called Miumiu had been appeared in the national news as she had sung the song “Fly Me to the Moon” at her own home video. A team of Italian musicians, led by Bruno Juchetti, had found and edited her home video of the song and had also added a musical instrument performed from their home during the lockdown.
“Fly Me to the Moon” Song Lyrics
Fly me to the moon
Let me play
Among the stars
Let me see
What spring is like
On a-Jupiter and Mars
In other words,
Hold my hand
In other words,
Baby, kiss me
Fill my heart
With song
And let me sing
For ever more
You are all
I long for
All I worship
And adore
In other words,
Please, be true
In other words,
I love you
Fill my heart
With song
Let me sing
For ever more
You are all
I long for
All I worship
And adore
In other words,
Please, be true
In other words,
In other words, I love you
