“Time after Time” is a song, performed by American singer Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper, simply known as Cyndi Lauper. The song had been written by Cyndi Lauper and Rob Hyman. The song was recorded on June 1983 and was released on 27 January, 1984, as the second single from Cyndi Lauper’s debut studio album “She’s So Unusual”.

The producer of this track was Rick Chertoff. The title of the song was taken from a science fiction film “Time After Time" that was referred in a TV Guide magazine. That time the both songwriter of the song Cyndi Lauper and Rob Hyman, were going through a bad situation with their respective relationships. Rob Hyman’s relationship was broken and Cyndi Lauper was facing difficulties for her relationship with her boyfriend David Wolff. This bad situation inspired them to write the song “Time after Time”. 

The song “Time after Time” received positive reviews from the music critics. The song was chosen by many media outlets and listed on many lists as one of the "best love songs of all time". On 9 June, 1984, the song “Time after Time” reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and stayed at the same position for two weeks. The song reached at the third position on the UK Singles Charts and received sixth position on the ARIA Singles Chart.
